Taking Screenshots (Windows)

  1. Click the start button. Copyd849c1effc6c.png
  2. Click "all apps".

  3. Select "Snipping Tool" from the apps list. Alternatively, in Windows 11, you can press Windows logo key + Shift + S, or the Print Screen button to bring up the screen capture tools.

  4. Select the rectangle icon to select the type of screenshot that you want to take. You can select from Rectangle, Window, Full Screen, and Freeform.

  5. Select the alarm clock icon to select the type of delay that you want, if desired.

  6. Click the "New" button. You will be taken to a screen that will allow you to take the screen shot. If you selected "rectangle" or "free form" you will click and draw the cursor over the area that you want to screenshot. If you select "full screen" it will take a picture of the full screen once you press new. If you select "window", you will need to select the window that you want to take a screenshot of.

  7. Once you take the screenshot, go back to the snipping tool window, and it will show the screenshot. You can use the tools to modify the screenshot. You can then press the floppy disk icon to save the screenshot in the location that you would like to.
